| 10/01/10 - Trend towards Cloud Printing |

(Vienna) After "Cloud Computing" comes "Cloud Printing": The maintenance of office printers is no longer done inhouse, but from outside by IT support companies.
"Cloud Printing spares companies the need to manage printers themselves." explains Bölling. "The printers just exist on standby in the office - that's all. Extensive efforts with human resources such as monitoring, maintenance or replacements are done transparently. All of this happens over the internet, completely in the background. The maintenance is carried out by service technicians, specialized dealers and the printer's manufacturers."
The challenge of Cloud Printing is the disorganisation of real office life: lots of printers by different manufacturers, side by side, some of them are connected to the LAN, some of them are just connected to a local PC. Although the well-known manufacturers provide software solutions that allow the remote maintenance of printers, these are obviously just for their own models. The ITAM Group provides a software solution, that works independently of the printer model. The 'printer asset management' (PAM) module can even control printers that are connected via USB. PAM supports interfaces to ERP-systems like SAP and to OfficeASSET - an ITAM-solution for the IT lifecycle management. The ITAM Group distributes the PAM module via IT support companies, specialised dealers and the printer's manufacturer, and allows them to serve Cloud Printing to their own customers. The ITAM Group develops and distributes software and services for the IT lifecycle management. The company was founded in 1998 and is currently present in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The headquarters are located in Ettlingen, near Karlsruhe, Germany. Â (Source: pressetext austria, 10/01/2010) |
